Originally from Scotland, Alasdair currently lives with his wife and kids in Nanaimo, B.C., Canada.
In Scotland , Alasdair completed an HNC in Broadcasting , Analysis and Production at Aberdeen college. Since moving to Canada, Alasdair studied at Vancouver Island University, achieving a BA, split between the Media Communications and Creative Writing departments. Alasdair is passionate about employing digital technologies as a tool with which to tell stories. He enjoys video and audio production, has scripted and produced short films and audio plays, and has had his photographs, poems and short stories published. He served a term as a fiction editor for Portal Magazine and is headed up their Audio/Visual team. He was on the founding team of their portfolio reading series and was the first student reader at the inaugural event.
He won a VIU awards scholarships for academic excellence and the 2019 Meadowlark Award for Fiction. In 2018 was awarded an Honourable Mention in the international Writer’s Digest Writing Competition.
